Welcome to Save Sarnia Neighbourhoods

MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission is to preserve the safety, livability, and integrity of the Neighbourhoods in Sarnia by advocating for responsible urban development that reflects the needs and voices of local residents. We are committed to protecting our community’s well-being, supporting balanced growth, and ensuring that all planning decisions are made with fairness, transparency, and long-term sustainability in mind.

Saving Our Communities in Sarnia is dedicated to creating a safe and nurturing environment for our children to thrive, free from concerns that may impact their well-being. We believe that individuals struggling with mental health issues and drug addiction deserve compassionate care and support in a recovery facility in a suitable location that benefits both the individuals in need and our community.

About Save Sarnia Neighbourhoods

WHY IT MATTERS

🧭

Why It Matters

Our neighbourhood deserves thoughtful planning. When major decisions like land transfers are made without public input, we all lose the chance to build balanced, family-focused communities. This is about transparency, safety, and having a voice.

WHAT’S HAPPENING

📆

What’s Happening

On August 11th at 10:00 AM, Sarnia City Council will meet to discuss the land use at George Street. Local residents are asking for a pause and proper review before this development moves forward.

    🛑 STOP The BUILD – Save Sarnia Neighbourhoods

    SIGN OUR PETITION

    While we support compassionate and effective responses to housing and mental health needs, we believe such developments must be appropriately located, sustainably integrated, and subject to public review.

    We urge Sarnia City Council to:

    1. Halt any immediate approval of the land transfer at Site A;
    2. Conduct a full community impact assessment with resident input;
    3. Explore alternative locations that balance service needs with neighbourhood preservation.

    Our neighbourhoods matter. Our voices matter. Let’s build a future where growth is guided by respect, transparency, and shared responsibility.

    LET’S WORK TOGETHER

    By submitting your name and email, you are digitally signing this petition.

    We oppose the planned supportive housing project at Site A – George Street in Sarnia.

    While we support care for vulnerable people, we believe this location is unsuitable and lacked public input.
    We ask that the project be stopped and moved.

     Information provided  is intended for the petition recipients, but it cannot not be guaranteed that it will not somehow be made public.
